I found the firm of A1 Complete Builders when repairs were required in 2011-12 for two leaking roofs in my Grade II listed house. I decided to have a 1970s flat roof over my kitchen replaced more appropriately with a pitched and slated roof. A1 took on the task which was completed with minimal disruption. Just as the work was finishing, a leak developed involving the dormer loft window at it’s junction with the main roof. This they re-slated, replacing the 1970s ‘asbestos slates’. To ensure that a flat roof over the lobby did not sprout a leak. A1 took on the task of replacing it like-for-like.
My roofing problems were not over, for the coach house of my late Mother’s listed property had developed irreparable holes. The Conservation Officer would not agree to standard slate repairs and insisted that the roof be re-scantile slated. A1 saw me through the inevitably expensive exercise. But, a beautiful roof in character with the early 10th Century age has been the result. A1 also carried out repairs to the walls of the coach house after the roof completion.
A1 has seen me through a year of substantial re-roofing work. I can recommend them for providing estimates to which they adhere, placing sufficient workmen on the job, carrying out the work and cleaning up on completion. All this was done in keeping with the building regulations, providing clear and timely paperwork and with sensitivity to the householder. I have found the firm thoroughly businesslike and reliable. I have no reservation in recommending them for building work on domestic premises.
